Our Vision
At The Extra Foundation, our vision is to create a community where adulthood for those with Down syndrome is a top priority and individuals, along with their parents and caregivers can access the resources they need to achieve optimal well-being and happiness.
Our Approach
Our first endeavor to help those who are touched by Down syndrome will be to create a bowling league, with the combined purpose of creating friendships, teamwork, advocacy opportunities, and a healthy dose of competitiveness, while also creating opportunities to raise awareness about Down syndrome with the general public.
About The Extra Foundation
Bowling
Our bowling league is the first of it's kind. We wish to serve young adults starting at the age of 16 to ? Our first league is based in Fresno County, and our first bowling groups meet at Bulldog Bowl, which is located inside Fresno State. Our times are from 4pm to 6pm, the second Monday of each month. Cost is free, and includes shoe rentals. We occupy 2-3 lanes depending on the number of bowlers. Afterwards, we choose a dining establishment to enjoy dinner with one another.

Meet-ups
As some of our young adults venture into the world, friendships, and even relationships don't always present themselves, and we would like to play a part in creating additional avenues/opportunities to build those friendships and relationships in whatever capacity we can. Adult mixers will be our first endeavor in our quest to serve those who have Down syndrome. More to come!!!!!!!
